Costa Vescovato is an agricultural centre stretching on a hilly area amidst vineyards and meadows, with a view of the Ossona valley.
The pastures surrounding Costa Vescovato are home to majestic cullies, where sulphur, gypsum crystals and lignite were extracted in the past.
In the Val Sorda, among oak woods and chestnut groves grow three truffle species.
The countryside is suitable for walks, bike rides or horseback riding.
The early inhabitants of this area were Celtic populations; the name of the hamlet ‘Montale Celli’ means ‘Mount of the Celts’. In the year 1000, the township was part of the temporal lordship of the bishopric, which grouped together 15 towns from the area.

On 11th April 1945 the town of Costa Vescovato was the scene of many battles between partisans and Nazi-Fascists.
