Spineto Scrivia is located in a panoramic position on the last hills raising above the Scrivia plain from the east. Its name comes from the hill covered with 'thorns' on which the town started to be built.
The main activity is based on the production of wine, being the ground particularly suitable for grapevines. The name ‘Spineto’ derives from the peak covered with thorns (‘spine’ in Italian), where the construction of the first houses began.
