Agricultural centre located in the mid-Curone valley; it stretches over 860 ha and over a wide valley floor and two hillsides. It is twinned with Guazzora (AL), Lampedusa and Linosa (AG).
Momperone is known for its marl quarries and it was mentioned for the first time in 1220, at the age of the Emperor Federico II of Svevia. Fief of Guidobono Cavalchini family from 1466 until the end of the 17th century, the township was dominated by a castle no longer existing.

The typical local dishes and the famous DOC wines of the territory (barbera, cortese and timorasso) can be tasted in the several farms, which are members of the consortium called ‘Strada del Vino’.

worth a visit:
- the church of Santi Pietro e Vittore: in baroque style with interesting marble altars. It was built during the 15th century on the site of a pre-existing building of the 12th century dedicated to San Vittore. In 1497 the Marquises Guidobono decided to set up the chapel of San Pietro as a token of their worship and the name of the church turned into ‘church of Santi Pietro e Vittore’.
- the watermill located in the hamlet of Mulino; still working, it is a feudal mill with French grinders, already mentioned in a document from 1542.
- sources of curative waters known since ancient times.
